Hungarian Product Grand Prix

The Hungarian Product Grand Prix Competition was announced for the fourteenth time in 2011 by INDUSTORG – TRADEMARK OFFICE Quality Assurance Ltd., the Hungarian Export-Import Bank Ltd., the Hungarian Export Credit Insurance Ltd., the National Consumer Protection Authority, TERC Trade and Service Ltd. and TÜV Rheinland InterCert Ltd. The Hungarian Product Grand Prix Competition set the dissemination of a quality-conscious approach as its main task, thereby also helping to develop conscious consumer behavior.

This year, applications were accepted in 22 topics covering the widest range of the economy.

Since the Hungarian Product Grand Prix Competition was announced in 1998, 245 Grand Prix awards have been awarded, and more than 2,000 international-standard products and services promote Hungary’s most important treasure, the performance of the grey stock.

The Hungarian Product Award honors the reliability of the manufacturer and distributor of the product, and ensures its bearer positive distinction from consumers. An excellent advertising medium and its application not only mean moral recognition, but also induce predictable economic growth in the long term. This is how it becomes the "European Passport to Certified Quality!"

The organizers are proud that with their consistent work they have achieved: the Hungarian Product Award Competition has become an alternative system for qualifying products and businesses that worthily represents Hungary and reflects its successes.

The organizers believe and declare that the Hungarian Product Award Competition is an entrepreneurial interest year after year. Encouraging innovation and product quality in businesses is the key to Hungary's economic development.

The awardees received their awards on September 1st in the Upper House Hall of the Parliament. The announcement of the results was rightly called the "Economy Celebration!" The invited guests included prominent figures from the economy and public life, heads of diplomatic corps, and senior officials of commercial diplomacy.

The applications are assessed through a multi-stage examination and certification procedure. Based on the decision of the organizers, the applications deemed to be the most outstanding were awarded the Hungarian Product Award. The certificates and trophies certifying the award of the Hungarian Product Award were presented by Mr. László Koszorús, Member of Parliament, and the Vice Chairman of the Economic and Informatics Committee of the Parliament. The Hungarian Product Award trophies were made by Hollóházi Porcelain Manufactory Zrt.

In 2011, 39 applications from 37 applicants were granted the right to use the Hungarian Product Award certification trademark. In Borsod Abaúj Zemplén County, only 1 applicant, Steelvent Zrt., won the right to use the trademark, with its hot-dip galvanized panel fencing system reinforced with ST10 type trapezoidal ribs manufactured by Steelvent.
