Gabions
The name gabion is applied to those baskets made of metal grids, which, when filled with stone, ensure the stability of a slope or riverbank due to their weight. The name gabion comes from the Italian word “kas” or “basket”, but the names “stone basket”, “stone box”, “stone box” are also used in several languages. A wide range of our hot-dip galvanized, welded steel grids can be used for gabion baskets, which significantly expands the range of applications: gabion retaining walls, fences, garden furniture or even wall coverings can be made! Gabions provide a flexible solution for many purposes, which is why, in addition to road, water and railway construction, they have now become fashionable for institutions, public areas and even owners and designers of private gardens. In order to achieve a durable, aesthetic result, the welded gabion grids of Steelvent2000 Zrt are hot-dip galvanized after welding!
