Gabion Fence
General Information
Gabion fencing is an ideal solution when both privacy and partial noise reduction are required. A continuous gabion structure can be used to form the entire fence line, creating a solid and visually appealing barrier.
By combining different stone colors and sizes, gabion fences can be easily customized to achieve a unique design. The overall height can be flexibly adjusted by combining panel sizes to suit specific project requirements.
Typical full-height gabion fences have a thickness of approximately 200 mm, although slimmer constructions are also possible by using tighter mesh spacing and smaller stone fill.
Gabion elements can also be combined with Steelvent panel fencing systems, allowing for:
- Gabion base walls (plinths)
- Gabion pillars between fence panels
Dimensions and Configurations
Typical dimensions for gabion base elements:
- Width: 300 mm
- Height: 400 mm or 500 mm
Recommended mesh types:
- 50 × 100 × 4 mm welded mesh
- Double wire mesh (50 × 200 × 6/5/6 mm)
Gabion pillars can be constructed using the same materials and mesh systems as the base elements, ensuring a consistent and durable fence design.
